It might be a Windows bug - I still don't know what's causing it - debugging this issue is tricky since you can't see the debugger for output while trying to reproduce it!

Hi Arnold,

Sorry to see that this tab peek preview functionality has been postponed to Firefox 3.7

I follow the bug causing this delay:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=522262

Don't have an account on bugzilla, but I thought it is worth mentioning that I have a similar issue with Windows Live Messenger on Win7 x64. With one conversation, and my main contacts list open, this program shows 3 peek preview tabs, the first of which initially shows my Avatar in a nice box (seems superfluous, but thats not the point here :-) ). After some opening / closing of conversations, the Avatar tab goes into "circle mode" just as the tabs on Firefox tend to do.

my conclusion is that it might be a bug in windows itself that's causing this???

This would be a great feature. I see that you are using it? Is there some kind of trickery you are using? I am running Win 7 RTM and love the Aero Peek feature and use it everyday. It saves time from switching around in different apps.

The tab preview extension ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6132 ) uses plain drawWindow and , and on long pages it draws a white strip where the scroll bar would normally be drawn (I assume it's due to the scroll bar not being part of the page, but drawn on top, so it sets space aside for it to render over). I think I'd prefer the scrollbars not to show up, but that's just me.

Yes there is space set aside for the scrollbars. They could conceivably be drawn but I didn't think it was that important (and didn't spend the time to figure it out). Eventually we'll be able to draw the whole window as it appears but I didn't want to wait for that (blocked on the same/a related bug as being able to draw web content on glass). I'm not sure what method the Tab Preview extension uses (haven't heard of it, unless you mean WinFox).

The glass effect and web content don't play well with each other (see http://localhostr.com/files/a62080/AeroGlass%20iframe.png as an example)

The tab previews look very nice, I notice in the screenshot some tabs have space set aside for the scrollbar, is that something general with the method used? Since the Tab Preview extension shows the same behaviour.
